About the Position.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to be a key contributor in the ID Platform Group within our organization.
The ID Platform Group is responsible for the development of key microservices that support the overall ID Platform Group. The key user management services developed by this team support over 40 products and handle tens of millions of requests per day. We are looking for an engineer who is motivated to develop platform services that impact many of our products.

About the team
The team you will be joining is primarily focused on developing platform-oriented microservices such as authorization, user management, and audit logs, working closely with the M product teams and other platform engineering teams.
The primary back-end languages are Ruby and Golang, and we welcome candidates with expertise in one and willingness to learn the other. We have a diverse team with a mix of Japanese and global members and work primarily in English.

[Main Responsibilities.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and implement microservices in Golang and Ruby for ID management of our products.
You will also be actively involved in database schema design and modeling to express tenant management and user management functions. You will also be responsible for helping other product development teams implement the APIs provided by our team. Experience in developing authentication/authorization systems is preferred but not required.
You will have experience operating services in a production environment, a sense of ownership of the service, and an opinion and perspective on how to achieve a highly reliable and highly available platform. We have a policy to fully Englishize our development work from FY2025, and the Business Platform Department already uses English as the primary language for communication and documentation in our development work.

Required Skills and Experiences

[Required Skills/Experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field At least 3 years of experience in web application development Extensive development experience in Go (golang) or Ruby Experience with database design and modeling Experience developing with modern RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS/Aurora, etc.) Experience with cloud infrastructure design and implementation Must be able to relocate to Japan and be able to come to the Tokyo office at least twice a week Welcomed skills and experience Experience with authentication systems and identity providers (SCIM, Okta, Azure AD, etc.) Experience with Kafka and other message broker technologies Experience with data engineering (ETL pipelines, data processing jobs, database management, etc.) Experience with system architecture design Experience with microservice development Experience with DevOps or service reliability engineering Experience with container-based development Experience with AI development or using AI tools to improve development processes Language Requirements] Must be able to work in English (professional level) English score of one of the following: IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL iBT 60 or above, TOEIC 740 or above Japanese language proficiency is not required, but daily conversational level (N3 or above) is desirable
