[Business Overview]
We are a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed technology company automating and optimizing complex planning in social infrastructure. Using a proprietary platform and cutting-edge AI like reinforcement learning and mathematical optimization, we solve large-scale decision-making challenges difficult for humans. We drive numerous collaborative projects with major infrastructure enterprises, supporting infrastructure digitalization through social implementation of advanced technology.

1．Generative AI as an "Intellectual Assistant," Mathematical Optimization as a "Rigorous Decision-Making Technology"
Generative AI automates human thinking based on probability and statistics. In contrast, mathematical optimization uses deterministic mathematics to rigorously guide real-world decision-making where errors are not permitted. Experts in deterministic mathematics are relatively scarce, limited to numerical analysis and specific engineering fields, requiring high theoretical rigor and modeling capabilities. By directly improving core decision-making, this field generates immense economic value.

2．Economic Effects of Hundreds of Millions of Yen from a Single Optimization
Our target is social infrastructure. By using mathematical optimization AI for complex planning tasks involving too many factors for humans to handle, we convert major capital investments, fuel costs, and maintenance costs into economic benefits on the scale of hundreds of millions of yen.

[Position Overview]
GRID emphasizes embedding AI systems into production operations rather than making them a "one-off creation." As an upstream Systems Engineer, this position leads requirement definition, basic design, and operation design to embed AI into business operations, driving projects through to production while gaining consensus with stakeholders. (AI model R&D and algorithm development are not primary duties.) Currently, anticipating the expansion of the system development organization, we are in a phase of organizing upstream workflows, quality, and operational concepts to create a reproducible approach (framework) as a team. We are looking for individuals who can participate as core members to build this "foundation." Decision-making is done close to the frontline, allowing a focus on necessary tasks. The environment makes it difficult to lose time over excessive approval processes or formal documentation.

[Position Highlights]
・Providing end-to-end technical leadership from the highest upstream conceptualization to requirement definition, design, and operation of AI products and IT systems.
・Building highly accurate grand designs from a technical perspective in collaboration with sales, holding responsibility for design decisions and client consensus after winning contracts, and fulfilling the role of completing social implementation.

[Primary Decision-Making Responsibilities]
・Defining the scope to be adopted as requirements versus the out-of-scope range (design of priorities and judgment criteria).
・Organizing and aligning consensus for non-functional requirements (performance, availability, security, etc.) and operational requirements (monitoring, troubleshooting, operational flows, etc.).
・Establishing basic design policies (configuration, allocation of responsibilities, data integration, quality standards).

[Design Judgment Style (Desired Attitude)]
・GRID seeks upstream Systems Engineers who can make design judgments with an eye toward implementation and operation, without separating design from implementation.
・Advanced coding skills are not required, but targets are individuals who can debate and make improvements while moving between design and implementation perspectives based on past experience writing code themselves.

Formulating Grand Design and Implementation Policies
・Deepening understanding of client challenges, and organizing operational points, business requirements, and non-functional requirements.
・Proposing overall system views (basic design) and architecture based on feasibility.
・Selecting configuration proposals and integration methods, and identifying assumptions and technical risks.
Leading Requirement Definition and Design
・Supervising detailed requirement definition (business, non-functional, operation) as well as basic and detailed design.
・Bridging technical integration design between AI engineers and the application development team.
Driving Projects and Gaining Consensus
・Leading client communication (organizing challenges and guiding decision-making).
・Defining scope and forming consensus on assumptions based on feasibility.
・Managing project progress, issues, and risks.
Release and Operation Design
・Formulating monitoring structures and operational flows for production startup, and building continuous improvement cycles.
