[ What is SMS? ]
SMS develops and operates over 40 services across the domains of Nursing Care/Welfare for People with Disabilities, Healthcare, Medical, and Senior Life, using "Aging Society $\times$ Information" as a key concept. The company strives to build information infrastructure as a social foundation for an era characterized by a declining birthrate and aging population, addressing various societal challenges while capitalizing on significant business opportunities driven by increasing public interest.

[ Department to be Assigned ]
Assignment to one of several services within a strategic unit such as Kaipoke, Well Me Job, or Senior Life. Each business deploys multiple products as a platform, requiring design consideration for broad areas like cross-user flows and infrastructure. While generally divided into Kaipoke and Career units, team structures are as follows:

・Kaipoke Division: Frontend and backend engineers belong to the same team. Frontend engineers occasionally handle backend tickets as needed. Development is typically conducted through discussions among engineers, designers, and PdM.
・Career Division: All members engage in both backend and frontend development. Frequent communication with marketers is common.

[ Job Overview ]
Service development in a compact team. Work begins by considering what and how to realize product goals based on user feedback and business demands. This involves identifying the true challenges and the optimal implementation, which may require working with people performing the actual tasks or conducting user interviews. Platform development necessitates robust design capable of handling high request volumes and preventing cascading failures to other services. The relatively complex domain requires careful data model design. Although challenging, work proceeds with mutual review.

[ Key Responsibilities ]
In charge of a wide range of service development, including product design, development, and improvement of the development environment, while considering business growth. Will be assigned to one of the following areas based on candidate preference:

・Platform development for existing services in the nursing care/medical domain, such as "kaipoke" and "Well Me Job."
・Development of new services.
・Maintenance and improvement of the technical foundation. Assignment location is decided based on preferences, as each service has different phases and technologies.

Required Skills and Experiences

[ Mandatory Requirements ] ・Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Ruby, or demonstration of equivalent skills. ・Proven capability in designing tables for RDBMS. [ Preferred Requirements ] ・Ability to lead and guide a development team. ・Strong interest and capability in contributing to service planning and conceptualization alongside development. ・Proficiency in development practices utilizing unit testing and Continuous Integration (CI). ・Familiarity with lower-level application infrastructure, including Docker, AWS, or GCP.

Working Condition

[ Employment Type ]
Permanent employee.
*Trial period: Up to 3 months (no change in conditions during the trial period).

[ Work Location ]
Tokyo Headquarters (Sumitomo Fudosan Shiba Koen Tower, 2-11-1 Shibakoen, Minato-ku, Tokyo).
* As of January 2025, work is effectively full-remote. Residence must be within Japan.
* Employees choose between office or remote work, but may be required to commute for scheduled events like team onboarding or 'lightning talk (LT) events.

[ Salary Review and Bonus ]
Performance evaluation conducted once a year, with possibility of salary increase or decrease.

[ Working Hours] 
Flexible time system (for one month, from the 1st to the end of the month). 
Flexible time and core time are as follows:
　‐Start Time Zone: 7:30 to 12:00
　‐Core Time: 12:00 to 16:00
　‐End Time Zone: 16:00 to 21:00

*Break time is 1 hour within the core time.
*For prescribed work days of 6 hours or more and less than 8 hours, break time is 45 minutes within the core time. No break is stipulated for prescribed work days of less than 6 hours.
