【Expectations for the Engineering Manager (EM)】
The company expects an Engineering Manager to maximize the business value created by their development team from the perspectives of People, Process, and Project Management.

To achieve its purpose, the company believes that speed is the most critical factor for success and has adopted a business unit structure to maximize it.

Each business unit consists of multiple cross-functional development teams (with no more than 8 members each), including product managers, engineers, and designers who develop the individual products. As an Engineering Manager, you will be part of a team and expected to maximize the business value it creates.

Currently, the company has three business units, 14 development teams, and about 30 engineers. As they continue to grow, organizational changes will occur frequently. It is becoming increasingly necessary to maximize the power of individual contributors (ICs), including staff engineers, and to unify that power into a collective organizational strength to achieve maximum results with a lean team.

【Position Highlights】
・High-Level Collaboration: With both a company-wide CTO and individual CTOs for each business unit, you'll be able to engage in discussions and receive mutual support from experienced members. This allows you to drive business forward at a higher level.
・Flexible Leadership: The culture encourages you to proactively propose and implement new systems. You can take on flexible roles, unconstrained by your job title, to maximize your team's results based on its specific situation and members.

【Responsibilities】
Maximizing the business value created by one or more engineering teams through people, process, and project management.
Supporting growth through goal setting and evaluation, mentoring, and coaching for members.
Managing the entire engineering organization, proposing and implementing improvements.
Performing various management and implementation tasks as necessary, in accordance with the team situation and member characteristics.
Developing members while transferring duties. Mid- to long-term organizational planning and execution.

You'll be empowered to maximize value by leveraging your expertise across the business, organization, and technology, with support from the entire company. You'll also have the freedom to proactively define your role and make an impact without being constrained by organizational boundaries.

Required Skills and Experiences

【Required】 Practical experience as a software engineer Practical experience as an engineering manager Experience in introducing and promoting development processes Experience in software development architecture design, technical decision-making, and operation and maintenance 【Preferred】 Work experience as an engineering manager spanning multiple teams Work experience as a manager of engineering managers Experience in engineering organization design and operations Experience in managing technical public relations/recruitment activities in the engineering field 【Ideal Applicants】 Well experienced as a software engineer and IC, capable of promoting team members Question conventional approaches and redefine them as needed Drive change within the team and promote problem solving and goal setting Not only perform departmental duties, but also define what is needed in the field and propose and promote company-wide initiatives

Working Condition

Transportation allowance (up to 30,000 per month, train tickets only, not express tickets)

Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays (125 days off per year)
Summer vacation: 3 days (available until December)
Welcome vacation: 3 days (paid vacation available during probationary period)
