Job Description

【Who we are】
LabBase is a start-up company that provides multiple services in the " LabTech " research area.
With the purpose "The Power of Research to the Power of Mankind", we are trying to create a society where researchers can play a more active role.

【Job Responsibilities】
You will use the services provided by LabBase to drive all developments to solve the complex challenges faced by the research area.
- The position is primarily concerned with data scraping and the associated performance and accuracy improvements. It is envisaged to maintain data pipelines.
- We use Rust to develop our products.

【Development flow】
- The development flow is based on LabBase's company-wide strategy, with teams developing for each service.
- The team to which you belong is delegated authority, so you are expected to work independently.

Server-side:
- Language: Rust

- DB : MySQL/Amazon DynamoDB
*Rust experience is not required.

Front-end:
- Language: TypeScript
- Frameworks: React, Svelte
- Web Assembly Rust

- Monitoring : Datadog, Grafana

■Office Language
Japanese: All materials, meetings, etc. will be in Japanese, so business level (N2 or above) speaking and writing skills are required.

【What we are aiming for】
We have released several products in the research field one after another, including "LabBase Shukatsu(LabBase 就職)," a service for newly graduated science students as our main product, "LabBase Tenshoku(LabBase 転職)," a mid-career recruitment service, and "LabBase Kenkyushitsu Search(LabBase 研究室サーチ)," a laboratory search service that connects researcher with laboratories. 

Also, we have completed a Series B round of funding in 2022 and used by METI, so this is a really interesting stage in terms of the management base and the future potential of our service.

Furthermore, the challenges surrounding researchers are not limited to Japan. In the future, we plan to expand our services overseas, starting with countries in close proximity to Japan!

With our highly motivated colleagues, LabBase will continue to challenge the very highest goals that no one has ever achieved. Let's move forward together toward this huge challenge!!

Required Skills and Experiences

【Qualification】 - Experience in web service development (at the level of having designed an entire system on one's own) - Technical flexibility not bound to a specific language or methodology - Ability to proactively carry out ownership - Great Japanese skills to communicate with Japanese teams(approximately N2 or above) 【 Welcome skills】 - Development experience using Rust, C/C++, GO, TypeScript, React - Knowledge of infrastructure and experience in building such infrastructure (can build scraping/crawling systems on your own) - Knowledge and experience with distributed processing (e.g. Apache Kafka) - Knowledge and experience with headless browsers - Knowledge and experience with blocking measures - Experience in leading multiple engineers to drive a project 【Ideal candidate profile】 - Empathize with our purpose - A person who want to create new value in the world and build a better society through our products - A person who can take initiative to ensure the success of the team - A person who are enthusiastic about challenging the unknown - A person who can develop products with an awareness of cost
