The Fascination of Witnessing Our Products Impact the World
Since our focus is on developing products for consumers, I am captivated by the opportunity to witness the real-world impact of what we have created. In addition to this, since the products we develop are diverse, we are exposed to a variety of technologies, which I think is fascinating for technology enthusiasts. Besides applications like Atena Shokunin (postcard creation software) and web products, we have recently been working in the IoT field as well. The extensive scope of our development necessitates continuous learning, but I firmly believe that this environment is exceptionally favorable for those who relish such challenges.
A Workplace that Encourages Tech Idea Implementation
Since our clients trust and entrust us with the technical aspects, we are allowed to do various things in a flexible manner. When I propose ideas for technical implementations, I often receive responses like "That sounds interesting!" and get the opportunity to work on them, which is captivating for me.
Furthermore, since we handle everything from development to maintenance in a one-stop manner, I have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of processes and receive feedback, which is also appealing. I am able to work with a proper understanding of each process.
Balancing Family Life with Flexible Work Arrangements
Agenda requires little overtime and has its own products. In Sapporo's IT industry, where many companies are involved in customer site development or operate as subcontractors, I found it appealing that the company primarily focuses on developing in-house products and directly contracted projects from clients. Another good point about Agenda is that it does not require frequent travel between Sapporo and Tokyo, which I had heard was common at other IT companies I was interviewing with at the same time.
Having fewer overtime hours allows me to allocate more time to household responsibilities, such as taking care of my children, making my life much easier. I also work from home, which eliminates commuting time and enables me to attend to household matters immediately after work. I find this arrangement highly beneficial, as it would be challenging to accomplish these tasks if I had to commute to the office.
I spend most of my time off with my family. On weekends, I take my children to and from their lessons, and at night I do household chores, such as cleaning the bathroom and washing dishes.
I can also take paid vacations easily, and the company actively works towards reducing unused paid vacations. By providing monthly updates on each employee's remaining paid vacation days, the company promotes a culture of utilizing paid vacations to the fullest extent possible.
