Job Description

■Job Description
We are challenging to solve many business problems based on machine learning/mathematical modeling and various other technologies.
The core of our company lies in our technical capabilities. The majority of our management team has engineering backgrounds, and we have about 100 student members who belong to various research laboratories at the University of Tokyo, so we are always in touch with cutting-edge knowledge from university laboratories and other sources.

Due to an increase in development projects from our clients, we are looking for a new project manager candidate who will apply various technologies to business issues and lead a team to implement solutions.

＜Responsibilities＞
We are looking for a new project manager who can lead a team to implement solutions by applying various technologies to business issues.
Hearings on client issues and identification of issues to be resolved (in conjunction with the account manager)
Study of solution methods, definition of requirements for deliverables
・Project planning and progress
・Research and follow-up testing of papers
・Examination and implementation of original methodologies
The account manager will seek the best solution method for the customer's issue that the account manager has interviewed, and will also define the requirements when it falls under system development (the account manager will be the main person to deal with the customer, but will also communicate with the customer during the implementation phase).
*Teams of 3 to 6 people per project
*We will first ask you to participate in a project as a member, and eventually you will be entrusted with multiple projects as a PM, including supporting members, so please do not worry if you have no PM experience!

The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of projects, and after working as a PM on multiple projects, will be expected to take on the following roles as an engineering leader to strengthen the organization as a whole.
・In addition to your own projects, as a team leader, you will be responsible for following up and quality control of projects that are assigned to early career members.
・As a senior manager, project manager for projects that are challenging or large in scale

We believe that there are many different careers that people can pursue, such as those who want to expand their technical skills and knowledge in a specific area, contribute to business growth by managing an engineering organization, or become a tech lead who can lead others with his or her technical skills.
In addition to the above, we would like to offer you a role that overlaps with your career image as much as possible, so please speak frankly about what kind of engineer you are aiming to become during the interview.

＜Examples of projects with our clients＞
・Development of a used car price and demand forecasting platform using machine learning (automating and increasing the accuracy of used car appraisal work previously performed by appraisers)
・Optimization of foreign currency exchange machine profits using machine learning (presentation of transaction rates that maximize expected profits and detection of money laundering using facial image recognition).
・Development and verification of a system that covers all the functions required for unmanned vessels in order to realize the world's first unmanned vessels in congested waters at an early stage (a consortium of 27 Japanese companies, including 45 partner companies, is currently participating in a cooperative project involving various organizations in Japan and overseas).

＜Example of our R&D technology＞
・Real-time 3D pose estimation
・Development of an engine to detect suspicious movement by combining multiple image recognition algorithms
・Development of a natural language processing engine capable of advanced semantic understanding by combining deep learning with classical linguistics and logic

＜What you will get out of this job＞
・An environment where you can be exposed to a lot of technical knowledge.
Master and doctoral students from the University of Tokyo who are conducting cutting-edge research in the laboratory of machine learning and AI are also working as members of the team, and there is a lot of in-house verification of the latest technologies and examination of their application to business.

・You can acquire multifaceted knowledge in an environment where you can work and learn at the same time.
We place importance on balancing research and development with system development to solve our clients' problems, based on our desire to be engineers who work both in business and academia. We have both a business perspective of discovering corporate issues and an academic perspective of constantly exploring new methods. Our greatest feature is that we have both of these perspectives.

・We are willing to invest in research.
A large portion of our revenue is allocated to the development of proprietary technologies. We are working on research and development with the goal of developing "AI that understands the meaning of words.

・We adopt an out-of-the-box development style.
Our development is not a combination of existing methods, but rather a one-stop process that begins with interviews about client issues and needs, followed by identification of issues, planning of solution methods, definition of requirements, theory building, technology development, and implementation.
We do not combine existing libraries, but conduct zero-based technical studies.
