Assigned Department: About Group Research & Development Department

This department supports business success by providing technical support, development, and analysis for startups and cross-group projects that the company is focusing on in its business domains.

Main Business Domains
・Internet infrastructure business (domain, cloud, settlement, EC)
・Internet advertising and media business (SSP, DSP)
・Internet financial business (securities, banking)
・Virtual currency business (exchange, mining)

The company is constantly researching and developing the latest technologies, and is quick to introduce them into the business, leading to results.

■Responsibilities
【Projects】
Depending on your experience and strengths, you may be asked to participate in one of the following projects

Development of systems that require scalability and low latency
→ Development of systems that handle traffic of a large scale within the company's group.
Development of platform infrastructure that works with multiple services of the company's group. Your responsibilities will also include speeding up and stabilizing services using container technology and cloud infrastructure.
Development of a Demand-Side Platform (DSP) that optimizes cost-effectiveness for advertisers in real-time bidding (RTB) of Internet advertisements.

Development of start-up businesses
→ Develop new start-up businesses with speed, using cloud services, etc., for their growth. You will also develop mobile apps as needed.
A fintech service that buys freelancers' invoices (accounts receivable). You will work on developing new functions so that more freelancers can use the service with a high rate of repeat business.
A service for smartphones that can automatically connect to free WiFi. In addition to systems related to smartphone applications, you will also support the development of management screens and API systems for stores that install WiFi and for integration with advertising services.

Verification and application of new specialized technologies
→ Investigate, verify, and apply new specialized technologies that are difficult for individual business companies to address to our services.
Blockchain-based projects related to the issuance of NFTs and stablecoins. You need to catch up with the technological area that is evolving every day and identify the best methods to use.

In addition to the above, new projects are launched on an irregular basis, and you may be assigned to a project depending on your suitability.
Since the business domains are diverse and the technologies and processes used are also varied, you will be able to experience many projects and developments depending on your own motivation.

【R&D】
・Each quarter, you will research and explore technologies that are relevant to your individual technical area of focus and business use, and publish the results on our engineering blog.
・Members appointed each quarter will conduct focused research and development and present the results at the end of the term. Research themes cover new technology areas that are expected to be applied to business in the next few years, such as Blockchain and xR, or trending technologies that should be kept in mind as an online service business.

【Attraction of this position】
As a department under the direct control of the group CTO, the selection and architecture of technologies are left to the site, allowing you to verify and introduce cutting-edge technologies on your own.
Since all services are in-house, you will be able to work together with the business unit from planning to post-release improvement cycles, focusing on development, and aim for the No. 1 service.
There are many opportunities to take on new challenges in order to support the various business areas of the company's group.
The group's unique in-house cloud platform allows for complete in-house development.
Depending on your performance and motivation, you may be able to take on the challenge of freely conducting research and development work on the team's key themes.

Required Skills and Experiences
