The value of an AI product is only proven once it is utilized within the client's actual operations. However, client business processes are complex, and countless challenges exist that cannot be solved by standard products alone.

The company is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) who will immerse themselves deeply into client sites, discover challenges that have yet to be articulated, and implement prototypes of AI solutions while providing support through to production launch. The organization currently plans to expand its 7-member team to approximately 30 members and is actively recruiting for this position.

【What is a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)?】
FDE is a role established by Palantir Technologies, referring to engineers who solve a client's most difficult problems through technology. The company has adapted this position for the era of AI agents.

As an FDE, you will deeply understand client business processes and data environments to implement and introduce problem-solving solutions utilizing AI agents.

This is not "outsourced development." It is a role where one discovers challenges at the client site, rapidly implements lightweight PoCs, and provides support through to production launch. Furthermore, the FDE feeds the insights gained during this process back to the product team to evolve the company's core products. This is the engineering position closest to the customer, requiring both technical prowess and business acumen.

【Responsibilities】
Identifying and Defining Customer Challenges
Gaining a deep understanding of customers’ business processes and data environments to identify challenges
Building relationships and coordinating with stakeholders (from executive management to frontline staff)
Structuring challenges, formulating hypotheses, and proposing solutions
Rapid Implementation of PoCs and Prototypes
Rapid implementation of lightweight PoCs using LLM and AI agents (Goal: From challenge identification to PoC completion ≤ 4 weeks)
Integration and Customization of Customer Data and AI Products
Full-Stack Development (Backend + Simple Frontend)
Production Deployment and Ongoing Support
Technical Support and Operational Design for Production Deployment
Addressing Security and Compliance Requirements
Support for Post-Deployment Adoption and Improvement Proposals
Product Feedback
Feedback from Customers to the Product Team
Identification and Proposal of New Use Cases
Extraction and Systematization of Patterns Leading to Product Improvements

Required Skills and Experiences

【Required】 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer. 2+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., technical consulting, system engineering, customer success). Full-stack development capabilities (backend + basic frontend). Experience in application development utilizing LLMs and Generative AI. Experience in development and operation within cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Fluency in Japanese. 【Preferred】 Experience in implementing and customizing enterprise SaaS solutions Experience in data integration and building ETL pipelines Foundational knowledge of security (authentication/authorization, encryption, compliance) Experience in project management Technical communication skills in English
