[Job Overview]
・Design of RF passive components for 5G mmWave bands, including power combiners, splitters, directional couplers, and band-pass filters
・Design and layout of RF printed circuit boards (PCB) for mmWave communication devices
・Full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulations using HFSS and circuit simulations using Qucs/SPICE
・Link budget calculations and RF system-level analysis
・Execution of design improvement cycles by correlating simulation results with hardware measurements
・Collaboration with RF design, hardware, and system teams, including participation in design reviews

[Project Structure and Engineer Roles]
The development team consists of multidisciplinary specialists handling everything from hardware implementation to AI-driven communication control.
・Mechanical Design Engineers: Chip mounting on glass substrates and structural design of radio relay device enclosures
・Simulation Engineers: Design of optimal wiring and antenna radiation patterns using radio wave propagation simulations
・Embedded Engineers: Development of hardware-software interfaces and implementation of device control systems
・Software Engineers: Development of optimal repeater placement algorithms and overall system architecture

Required Skills and Experiences

[Mandatory Requirements] ・Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field ・Hands-on experience in RF PCB design for high-frequency applications (mmWave or Microwave) ・Proven track record in designing RF passive components, such as combiners, splitters, couplers, and filters ・Proficiency in EM simulation tools such as HFSS ・Familiarity with circuit simulation tools including Qucs, SPICE, or ADS ・Technical knowledge of 5G mmWave frequency bands and associated design constraints ・Native-level proficiency in either Japanese or English [Preferred Requirements] ・Experience using RF measurement instruments such as VNA, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators ・Background in firmware or embedded software development ・Experience in test automation using Python ・Knowledge of low-level communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART ・Proficiency in version control using Git/GitHub [Desired Candidate Profile] ・Willing to work on development that spans both hardware and software ・Enjoys solving problems while working directly with physical devices ・Able to independently learn new technical fields
