Job Description

With our mission to “build trust for a seamless society”, Merpay provides digital financial services. In this role, you will improve the quality of our products by understanding customer needs, analysing product specifications, improving tests, and reducing bugs through test automation. As a QA engineer at Merpay, you will work on a variety of tasks, such as UI/UX verification, specification review and improvement, and development process improvement. You will be working in a small team where every member can have an immense impact on products.

Merpay strives to create a new economic system based on “trust”, in which  everyone can fulfill their wishes. Although we started from mobile payment service, our current focus is to create a completely new payment by incorporating electronic payment and the services from Mercari, an CtoC eCommerce app that has over 100 million accounts. 

【Key responsibilities】
Specification review and improvement in upstream process
Test planning, test design, test implementation and bug reporting for medium-sized projects
Negotiation and coordination with developers in microservices projects
Test management, bug management, member management in microservices projects
Test efficiency and automation for web, smartphone apps and backends
API test, regression test design and implementation, operation and maintenance
Improvement work related to the entire development process

【Development environment】
Tools used: Circle CI / GitHub / Postman / Slack / JIRA / Confluence / Crowi / TestRail / espresso / XCTest / Cypress / Datadog
Development method: Agile (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

QA is getting more and more important in the group as we develop  many new services. While working closely with other teams, we continue to improve the quality of products and services. We also work closely with the QA teams for Mercari, for Souzoh, and for Mercoin, to improve overall quality of services in the Mercari group. 

【About Mercoin】
Mercoin plans and develops crypto and blockchain services. The services have a positive impact on each service in the Mercari group; users can withdraw bitcoins when they make profits on Mercari; users can use Merpay for not only mobile payment but also credit, asset management, and cryptocurrency. 
In addition, blockchain services enable users to exchange, not only money, but any values including NFT, their own services and digital contents. By doing so, Merpay creates a completely new ecosystem, in which  everyone can fulfill their wishes.
